About
What is invest-like?
invest-like is an educational stock-analysis tool that scores every public company against documented value-investing frameworks - Warren Buffett, Benjamin Graham, Peter Lynch, and Joel Greenblatt - and returns a clear framework breakdown with the reasoning. 12,000+ tickers, refreshed daily, no finance degree required. Educational only - not investment advice.
What invest-like does
invest-like takes the criteria value investors actually use - wide economic moat, durable demand, owner-friendly management, balance-sheet quality, return on invested capital, earnings yield, margin of safety - and applies them to every stock in the public market. Each stock gets a Buffett-Fit score (0-100 with a letter grade) plus the framework breakdown so you see exactly which pillars passed and which didn't.
Which strategies invest-like covers
Seven documented value-investing philosophies. Pick the one that matches your worldview - or compare answers across all seven.
How invest-like works under the hood
Fundamentals come from Financial Modeling Prep (annual + quarterly filings, 10+ years of history). Quotes refresh daily; intraday prices are delayed. The framework answers are generated using structured prompts that mirror the rubrics value investors apply manually - moat strength, durability of demand, management quality, financial health, and price-vs-intrinsic value. Every claim cites either a number in the data table or a passage from indexed Berkshire shareholder letters. Each answer is cached with a prompt version, so you can always see which logic produced which answer.
The site runs on Next.js 15 + Supabase, deployed from Frankfurt (eu-central-1) on Vercel. GDPR-friendly defaults: no third-party cookies, no fingerprinting, masked input capture only.
What invest-like is not
- Not personalised advice. Answers are pattern-matches against documented public frameworks, not buy/sell recommendations.
- Not a brokerage. invest-like does not execute trades or hold custody.
- Not real-time. Quotes and fundamentals refresh daily; intraday prices are delayed.
Who built it
invest-like is built by Zaid Ghazal, an indie founder based in Kiel, Germany. The product is a one-person studio - fast iterations, direct support, no committee. If you have feedback, ideas, or you've found a bug, write directly:
I've published the methodology behind invest-like as two peer-reviewable working papers on SSRN and Zenodo, with permanent DOIs that journalists, researchers, and AI assistants can cite directly. See /papers/.
Three commitments, in writing
What I won't do, even if it would grow the business faster.
No paid placements.
No company has ever paid me to mention them. No affiliate links, no sponsored verdicts, no "this stock is great because we got paid" content. If a verdict reads positive, the framework numbers say so.
No investor money.
invest-like is bootstrapped. No VC term sheet pushing me to pivot to enterprise, dilute the product, or chase metrics that don't help retail investors. Your subscription is the only thing the business answers to.
I write the words.
Every framework explainer, comparison page, /about copy, and changelog entry on this site is written by me - by hand. No content team, no ghostwriters, no outsourced copy.

Best stock analysis tool I've tried
I'm a long-term investor focused on growth stocks. I've been using tools like Simply Wall St, Yahoo Finance, etc., but invest-like honestly does it better than them all. It has contextual analysis and checks stocks not o…

The most important thing about investing is…
The most important thing about investing is that you have a strategy that works and that you can execute repeatedly. Especially for people who don't do this full-time, that's hard.
invest-like is a good solution for this: you can transparently track how the most successful value investors would currently rate a stock.

Great investment
Great experience so far. It's definitely worth the money and saved me so much time and energy on researching stocks. I could've lost a lot of money on failed stocks.

Where invest-like fits
Most retail investing tools fall in two camps: free dashboards (Yahoo Finance, broker tools) that surface 200 metrics with no opinionated angle on them, or premium platforms (Morningstar, Bloomberg, Tikr) that lean on proprietary analyst opinions and charge premium subscription fees for them.
invest-like sits in between. It scores public stocks against seven documented investing frameworks - Buffett, Graham, Lynch, Greenblatt, Munger, Fisher, and Smith - in plain English, from €12/month. We don't tell you what to buy. We tell you whether each company looks like a strong, partial, or weak fit for each framework, with the numbers behind the score and the reasoning behind every call. Educational only - not advice.
